Prepare a contact list before importing it

A cleaner starting list makes every later automation easier to trust.

Begin with the source

Review where each record came from and whether it belongs in your current client-care audience. Remove obviously obsolete entries and resolve conflicting versions before importing. A large file is not automatically a useful file, especially when email addresses or names have been copied between several spreadsheets.

Use the provided structure

Download the contact template from LoopLily and compare its column names with your data. Keep one person per intended record and place information in the matching fields. Check date values deliberately instead of relying on how your spreadsheet happens to display them.

Inspect the imported result

Start with a small sample and compare the saved records with the source. Open a few contacts, verify names and dates, and inspect email preferences. An import is the beginning of a review, not proof that the list is ready for every automation. Correct problems before connecting the entire audience to scheduled messages.
