A useful name explains purpose and audience at a glance.

Use business meaning
Names such as ‘Appointment reminders — regular clients’ or ‘Winter greeting — selected clients’ are easier to review than ‘Automation 7.’ Include enough context to distinguish similar workflows without trying to fit every setting into the title.
Keep names aligned with changes
If you change the audience or purpose, update the name as part of the same review. An old label can mislead you even when the underlying configuration is correct. The displayed name is a guide for people, not a substitute for inspecting the actual settings.
Use naming to spot overlap
Periodically scan the automation list and ask whether several names describe the same job. Open those rules and compare their audiences, templates, and timing. A consistent naming habit supports troubleshooting and handoffs because it gives everyone a clearer starting point. It also makes it easier to pause the right workflow when a seasonal message or business process changes.
