A relationship-first email routine for gift shops

Use appreciation and relevant occasions without turning every card into a promotion.

Start with the existing relationship

A thank-you after a meaningful interaction or a seasonal greeting can suit a gift business. Choose recipients who should receive that communication and review preferences. Do not assume a purchase alone makes every later occasion relevant to every customer.

Let the card do one job

A rich holiday image can provide warmth while a short body expresses appreciation. If the purpose is a greeting, resist adding a catalogue of offers underneath it. Promotional messages need their own appropriate purpose and audience; a friendly card should not disguise a different intention.

Maintain useful information

Keep names and email addresses current, and record dates only when they serve a clear purpose and have been shared appropriately. In a fictional Willow Gifts example, a Thanksgiving note might simply thank clients for their connection with the shop. Review the saved template in your own inbox, then check the configured audience and schedule before sending.
