Before retrying a failed message

Confirm the cause, the current relevance, and the risk of duplication.

Understand the recorded outcome

Read the Sending Log entry and any available result details. A retry should respond to a known problem, not merely to uncertainty about whether someone opened the email. Do not infer failure from a lack of reply.

Fix the underlying issue

If the connection needs attention, review Gmail setup. If the address or event data is wrong, correct the appropriate record. Confirm that the template and audience still make sense after the change. Repeating the same attempt without addressing its cause is unlikely to clarify the situation.

Ask whether the message is still useful

An appointment reminder sent after the appointment may confuse the client. A holiday greeting may no longer fit the day. Where a retry action is available, use it deliberately after checking existing history for a possible duplicate. In some cases, a brief personal explanation is more appropriate than replaying the original automated message unchanged.
